UW-Platteville Youth Protection and Compliance
Please view the materials below to gain an understanding of the procedures and policies involved when minors visit UW-Platteville to participate in a covered activity.
UW-Platteville is thrilled to offer a wide variety of youth camps and clinics to surrounding communities in alignment with our mission to promote excellence through hands-on learning experiences. From computer programming to football footwork, we have learning experiences to offer younger generations. In offering youth programs, our top priority is the well-being, safety, and protection of all minors that wish to participate in covered activities through UW-Platteville.
The framework of our Youth Protection and Compliance Procedures comes from the UW System Administrative Policy 625 – Youth Protection and Compliance. UW System Administrative Policy 625 sets the minimum requirements to protect minors in youth programs through registration standards, screening and training standards, emergency preparedness standards, and more. Both UW-Platteville-sponsored and third-party programs using UW-Platteville facilities must comply with these standards. UW-Platteville also holds a recreational and educational camp license through the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture and Consumer Protection. It is the youth program coordinator’s role to implement this policy and equip departments with the tools needed to protect minors visiting UW-Platteville.
