Progress Toward Sustainability

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville has been working tirelessly and consistently towards sustainability since 2012. Each year, we have taken new steps and made progress. These successes and challenges are tracked through the following tools.

AASHE Stars

We report on a very wide range of sustainability activities every other year to the Association for Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education's Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS). Our last report, in March 2020, earned UW-Platteville a Silver rating.

Campus Sustainability Survey

Since 2015 we have conducted a campus-wide survey every other year to assess our campus sustainability practices and goals. All faculty and staff and a statistical sampling of students received the survey via email.

Carbon Footprint Reporting

Our carbon footprint measures the total emissions caused by UW-Platteville and expresses it as carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e). You can see reports from 2010, 2015, and 2015-19.
