Symphonic Wind Ensemble
The Symphonic Wind Ensemble is the premier wind group of the UW-Platteville Music Department and consists of the finest wind and percussion players at the university. The repertoire is carefully chosen to provide a variety of musical experiences from the traditional, to the historical, to contemporary art literature. Four concerts are given on campus in addition to the spring tour. Past performances include the National Band Association and the Wisconsin State Music Educators Association. The Symphonic Wind Ensemble sponsors a student conducing competition, and with our Omicron Iota chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, a concerto competition. The group rehearses Tuesday and Thursday from 3–4:45 p.m.
