Pioneer Percussion
Whether you are a prospective or current student, the percussion program at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville has everything to make you a successful percussionist. Beyond the regular curriculum, there are a variety of performance opportunities and outstanding faculty to help you every step of the way. Take time to explore our site and see what our program can do for you.
Students interested in percussion studies at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville will be given opportunities to study both pitched and non-pitched percussion instruments. The “Total Percussion” philosophy is the ideal basis for all percussion students at Platteville. Percussionists enrolled in lessons learn the basics of the three primary percussion instruments (snare drum, mallets, and timpani) as well as additional study in drumset, solo repertoire, contemporary music, orchestral percussion, and jazz.
Enrolled students will have access to practice rooms, percussion studio performances, and access to university percussion equipment for university ensembles.
