Federal Emergency Grants for Students

The federal government has provided emergency aid for college students nationwide who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. UW-Platteville has received nearly $2.7 million through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act to help students who are struggling with expenses such as food, housing, medical expenses, course materials, and childcare after campus operations were disrupted by the virus.

To qualify for CARES Act funds a student must be Title IV-eligible, they must have be enrolled in at least one on-campus course, and they must have been financially impacted by the disruption of campus operations due to the coronavirus.

Federal Institutional Funding

The federal government has provided emergency funding for colleges and universities nationwide that have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. UW-Platteville has received nearly $2.4 million through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act to cover costs associated with the significant changes to the delivery of instruction due to the coronavirus.
