You may be required to have exams proctored. At the start of each term, you will be notified via email if you need a proctor and your next steps. You will have the opportunity to nominate a proctor or use a designated proctoring site.

Nominating a Proctor

You can use an approved proctor to administer your exam. A proctor might work at one of the two-year branch campuses, the local public library, or your company’s human resources department. To learn more about what qualifies an individual as a proctor, please refer to our proctor guidelines.

If the proctor requires compensation, you will be responsible for paying the proctor. Please read the proctor guidelines and submit your alternate Proctor Nomination Form.

Proctor Nomination Forms will be reviewed and nominated proctors will be contacted and verified by UW-Platteville. You will be notified via email after your alternate proctor has been approved. If you have any questions or have difficulty finding an alternate proctor, contact Hattie Techlow at techlowh@uwplatt.edu.

Partner Proctors

Students using a partner campus have access to designated proctors for all exams. You will need to contact the appropriate proctor based on your geographic location to schedule dates and times to take exams. Information about your partner proctor will be sent to you at the start of the semester.

Examinations

Instructors will email exams to regional and approved alternate proctors.

You should ask your instructors about their proctored exam preference. Most instructors prefer that you take their exam the same day the exam is taken during face-to-face classes, while other instructors prefer you take their exam with your classmates on Monday and Thursday evenings. Be sure to ask in advance to plan accordingly.
