Academic Assessment
Assessment is all of the systematic ways in which information is collected about student learning in order to improve that learning (Hanna and Dettmer 2004).
Assessment SHOULD be:
- Coordinated and comprehensive
- Shared and transparent
- Regular and systematic
- Student-centered and faculty-driven
Carolyn Keller’s role as Academic Assessment Director is to support all faculty in their assessment activities including:
- Workshops
- Consultation
- Providing resources, examples, best practices
- Accreditation Support
- Alignment and Reporting
