Child Care Credential Students
Through the UW-Platteville’s Child Care Education program, individuals who are interested in becoming a child care teacher or opening their own child care program can take individual courses and earn credentials that can elevate their YoungStar or QRIS Ratings. All credential programs are offered online and are offered in English and Spanish. View our printable PDF for step-by-step instructions in English and Spanish.
Follow these steps to register for courses.
Step 1
Apply using the common Universities of Wisconsin application at apply.wisconsin.edu, as an undergraduate non-degree applicant at UW-Platteville
Keep the following in mind when answering the prompts:
- When asked if you are applying as a degree-seeking student, select No
- When asked if you plan to take undergraduate or graduate classes, click Undergraduate
- When asked to select your campus, select UW-Platteville and Early Child Care Credentials as your major/program
- Type Essay not required when prompted for an essay
Step 2
Once your application has been reviewed, you will receive an email from UW-Platteville Account Activation.
Once you receive the email, activate your UW-Platteville Account (NetID)
Step 3
Enroll in Duo, a security app that helps users protect their devices and data, using a mobile device
Step 5
Enroll in courses through PASS. When following the instructions to enroll in your class, select “Class Search” in Step 4, and “Enroll” in Step 5.
When choosing a course, please note that Section SP is in Spanish.
Once you have enrolled in your chosen courses, you will receive updates about them in your UW-Platteville student email.
