Southwest Hall is home to 380 students who live in 95 four-person suites, delivering apartment-style living with on-campus convenience. Southwest Hall remains open during the official academic year breaks.
Eligibility
Southwest Hall is available to students with 30+ post high school credits taken at UW-Platteville or another institution, or are 19 years of age.
Each suite has:
- Four single occupancy bedrooms (four residents total)
- Two bathrooms (shared with four residents total)
- Kitchenette
- Living room area
- High speed wireless internet access in each room
- ADA accessible suites available
Each floor has:
- Laundry facilities
- Study lounge/group project area
- Kitchen
Public areas include:
- Main desk/mailroom
- Lobby with fireplace
- Multipurpose room
- Activity room with TV, pool/billiards, and ping-pong
- Public restrooms

Furniture
All suites are completely furnished. Each bedroom has a low loft (may be converted to a high loft with a kit), dresser (36” wide by 24” deep by 30” high with three drawers), desk with three drawers and a removable hutch, bookcase, and open closet. Horizontal blinds are provided for window treatments.
Bathroom
Two bathrooms, each with a single basin sink, shower, and toilet area, are shared amongst the four residents who live in the suite.
Kitchenette
Each suite kitchenette includes a full-sized refrigerator, double sink with garbage disposal, microwave/convection oven, and cabinets.
Television Service
Students can utilize streaming services via smart televisions or devices. Television lounges with access to cable are available in every residence hall.
