Originally constructed in 1941 and renovated in 2007, the Art Building features the Mary Jean Dochnahl Hlavac Painting Studio and the Tom Hendrickson Drawing Room as well as ceramics, jewelry, painting, graphic design, art education, printmaking, woods, and sculptures labs. Student art is always a focal point of this building.
The Art Building is an excellent working environment for art majors. Our facility offers a state-of-the-art computer graphic design lab, high-tech instructional media, and excellent drawing and painting facilities with natural sunlight. Our ceramics studio contains newly purchased kilns, a glaze mixing room, potters wheels, and hand building areas. The Art Building also houses a printmaking studio with vintage letterpress, a fiber arts studio, sculpture studios with quality woodworking tools and equipment, and a metals lab. The arts education lab has a teaching library, K-12 art materials, and new instructional technology for filming student teaching.
