Wisconsin's Workforce, Built Here.

For good reason, UW-Platteville is ranked the #1 university in Wisconsin for annual return on investment. We prioritize workforce preparation with applied learning, connections with industry, and dedication to keeping student debt low. Industry partners sit on nearly 20 program advisory boards and work closely with the faculty to ensure our programs deliver on regional workforce needs. Our biannual career fairs—the largest in Southwest Wisconsin with over 800 organizations in attendance—directly connect our students to employers.

We Don’t Just Educate; We Equip.

At UW-Platteville, a meaningful education is more than memorization. Our commitment to applied learning means students gain practical, real-world skills. From advanced engineering labs to unique forensic training to sustainable agricultural practices, we're preparing a workforce that can adapt and thrive in any industry.

“UW-Platteville opened up doors that I did not know were there. I took advantage of the career fairs and a cooperative education experience (co-op), which only made me hunger for more knowledge. Investing in a degree at UW-Platteville showed me what I was capable of and encouraged me to continue my education. I am not sure I would have had the same opportunities at other colleges, and I am thankful to have chosen UW-Platteville.” -Brooke, chemistry major

Employers across a wide range of industries – engineering, construction, criminal justice, agriculture, education, and more – continually tell us that a UW-Platteville graduate is a sure bet. Our graduates are ready to contribute from day one.

Partner with Platteville

At UW-Platteville, we believe in getting things done, thinking ahead, and making a real impact—because that’s just who we are. To continue to deliver on our high standard, our state funding priorities are directly aligned with our commitment to workforce development.

One. Competitive compensation is vital for attracting and retaining top faculty and staff, ensuring high-quality education and support for our students.

Two. Modern infrastructure is essential for attracting, retaining, and properly educating students. After the opening of our new engineering building, enrollment in associated programs increased by 5%.
