Incoming fall transfer students should submit the general scholarship application by March 1 to be considered for Foundation and Alumni Association scholarships.

In addition to the Foundation and Alumni Association scholarships, transfers are eligible for two additional scholarship programs.

Transfer Next Scholarship

For fall and spring admits to the Platteville campus 

If you are a new incoming transfer student, you could be awarded up to $1,000 for the academic year. Use the general scholarship application to apply for this opportunity. 

Scholarship requirements:

  • Be a new, incoming transfer student, including
    • Having not previously attended UW-Platteville
    • Planning to enroll full time at the Platteville campus
  • Have a minimum transfer GPA of 3.25
  • Completed 24 completed credits at the time of application

Academic record, achievements, and other evidence of ability to contribute to and benefit from the UW-Platteville educational experience will serve as the primary selection criteria. The scholarship is non-renewable.

Application Deadlines

  • Fall semester, July 1
  • Spring semester, December 1

2025–26 Wisconsin Tuition Promise

For the Platteville, Baraboo Sauk County, and Online campuses

The Wisconsin Tuition Promise aims to increase the number of state residents who graduate with a bachelor's degree. Transfer students will be automatically considered for the Wisconsin Tuition Promise when they are admitted to the university, have a completed FAFSA on file, and meet all other eligibility requirements.

Must submit FAFSA. If selected by the Department of Education for verification, those steps must also be completed.
