The biology teaching minor at UW-Platteville is a cross-disciplinary program between the College of Business, Industry, Life Science and Agriculture and the School of Education. The program prepares graduates to teach elementary through high-school biology classes and seek K-12 licensure. With the completion of biology teaching courses you will have the skills and knowledge you need for a successful career as an educator, where you can inspire students and develop their understanding of the world around them.
Students who pursue this program will complete biology courses covering anatomy, physiology, genetics, ecology, and evolution, as well as courses focused on the unity of life and the diversity of life. Additional elective coursework allows students to learn more about certain areas of interest such as microbiology, ornithology, cell biology, zoology, molecular biology, and more. School of Education coursework prepares students to become confident educators in their chosen fields.
