Incoming and outgoing campus mail and packages

All faculty and staff mail and packages are handled by Facilities/Central Stores. Please contact them at centralstores@uwplatt.edu or 608.342.1144 with questions.

UW-Platteville has one general mailing address. Including room numbers and building names does not help in the deliverability of your mail/packages. Mail is sorted and delivered by department. Please use the following examples as a reference when giving anyone your campus address to send mail or packages to campus.

Communications – Jane Smith
UW-Platteville
1 University Plaza
Platteville WI 53818-3099

English – Jim Smith
UW-Platteville Baraboo Sauk County
1006 Connie Rd.
Baraboo WI 53913

First class outgoing campus mail is processed in Printing Services in preparation for the Platteville Post Office. All mail dropped off must have a UW-Platteville return address, and be properly sealed or nested for sealing. Only #9, #10, and side open 6 x 9, 9 x 12, and 10 x 13 can be machine sealed and must be nested. Any other envelopes need to be sent to our office sealed by the department. The mail also needs to have an active account code attached to the top piece for billing purposes. Mail not meeting specifications will be returned to the department.

When a department needs to mail a large quantity of marketing material, like postcards, letters, etc., we can help reduce cost by bulk mailing the project. The minimum quantity to bulk mail is 200 pieces. Advance notice must be given so an appropriate timeline can be created to allow for design, print, and mailing. Please email bulkmail@uwplatt.edu with questions concerning timelines for bulk mail projects. If you have everything in order for your bulk mail project, please send your mailing list to bulkmail@uwplatt.edu to secure a mail date.

Intra-campus mail needs to be addressed with the person's name and department, or we cannot guarantee delivery. Allow one to three days for delivery of intra-campus mail.

Package tracking system

Printing Services, in conjunction with Central Receiving, currently has a package tracking system in place. It is called Qtrak. When a package arrives on campus it is scanned into this system and when it is delivered you will receive an email from centralstores@uwplatt.edu letting you know that your package is in your postal drop area or another location. If you have any questions about this system or delivery of a package, please email centralstores@uwplatt.edu.

Residence halls:

Contact Residence Life at 608.342.1845 about student mail.

Mail and packages are delivered directly to the residence halls on campus. Please contact Residence Life at reslife@uwplatt.edu or 608.342.1845 for the specific mailing address for each hall or with questions about student mail.
