UW-Platteville and the Foundation and Alumni Association offer over $6 million annually in scholarships to first-year, transfer, and continuing students.

Find Scholarships in Three Steps

Step One

Once admitted to UW-Platteville, submit the UW-Platteville General Scholarship Application.

General Scholarship Application

Due dates:

  • First-year students: February 1
  • Transfer students:
  • Continuing students: March 1

You may continue to submit the application until April 1, but most scholarships will already be awarded. Check out answers to frequently asked questions.

Step Two

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
when it becomes available. Even if you do not qualify for the federal Pell grant you may qualify for other types of need-based aid. It is anticipated that the FAFSA will open on Dec. 1.

Step Three

Review the Private and Outside Scholarships list to apply for additional scholarship opportunities outside of UW-Platteville.

How Scholarships Work

Scholarships are applied toward your cost of attendance for the upcoming academic year. Eligibility is often determined by your high school or university GPA, financial need as determined by your FAFSA, and your academic program among other possible criteria.

Unless special permission is granted, undergraduate scholarship recipients are to be enrolled as full-time students, taking 12 or more credits on campus. Athletic achievement is not considered in the application process.

The number of scholarships given, amounts, and awards are subject to change. All scholarship awards are contingent on the availability of sufficient funds.
