Ann Krebs Byrne earned her Master of Science in Education from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and her Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Krebs Byrne has 25 years of experience as a practitioner in Adult Basic Education and English as a Second Language in the Technical College System of Wisconsin. She is currently the coordinator of the Master of Science in Education/Adult Education and Master of Science in Education/Human Services programs.
In her position she helps students from when they first contact UW-Platteville to inquire about programs of interest through their graduation. Krebs Byrne oversees many aspects of the graduate programs which includes arranging course offerings in various locations across southern Wisconsin.
Prior to coordinating programs and teaching graduate courses at UW-Platteville, Krebs Byrne also taught for the School of Education at Edgewood College in Madison, WI in the Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) program and served as a content expert for the Wisconsin Alliance for Cultural and Linguistic Diversity. Krebs Byrne has been an invited speaker at domestic and international conferences on best practices in workplace education programs, adult education, and recognition of prior learning in adult educational programs.
Her professional interests include excellence in teacher and counselor preparation to equip professionals to meet the needs of all students/clients while honoring their first languages, cultural backgrounds, and unique needs.
